The General Carmelite Library (BiGOC), located in Rome, at Via Sforza Pallavicini 10, within the Sant'Alberto International Centre, was created by the merger of the General Library and the Carmelite Library. The Library belongs to the General Curia of the Carmelite Order and is part of the’Carmel Institute.

To make its consultation service effective, the General Carmelite Library is supported by the UNBC and the IT Service of the Italian Episcopal Conference through the use of the collective catalogue and the CEI-Bib software.

Among the Library's objectives, aimed at the knowledge and valorisation of its heritage, are opening up to users external to the institute, participation in cultural heritage valorisation days promoted by the relevant CEI Office, the awarding of scholarships for cataloguing projects or bibliographic research, and events to promote publications, especially in Carmelite.
