Results of the Fourth Edition of the “E. Boaga” Research Grant (2020)
onWe are delighted to inform you that the Fourth edition of the Research Grant in memory of Fr Emanuele Boaga has been awarded to Flavia Di Giampaolo, a Doctor of Research in Textual Sciences and a palaeographer archivist graduated from the APD School of the State Archives of Rome. She will be working on a project entitled: The travel diary of Giovanni Antonio Filippini, prior general: critical edition and historical contextualisation.

The manuscript under investigation is characterised by its very small dimensions, like a pocket diary, and was compiled during the journey undertaken by General Filippini in the years 1651-1653 through the Carmelite provinces of Central Europe, which were at that time involved in a reform movement. The critical study of this text will have the merit of shedding light on the work of a poorly studied but highly significant figure for the history of the Carmelite Order.
