ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTION FOR THE AWARD OF 1 RESEARCH GRANT

Decorrenza 15 marzo 2023 – Scadenza 3 agosto 2023

In accordanceance with its aims, the General Archive of the Carmelite Order (hereinafter AGOC) is opening a selection for Titles e interview for the awarding to scholars of research grant, named in memory of archivist Fr. Emanuele Boaga, O.Carm., for carrying out historical, historical-religious, philological or archival research relating to the Carmelite Order, to be conducted using the AGOC’s heritage, and which aim to produce a scientific work (article, monograph, edition of sources, inventory, etc.). The Scientific Commission will reserve the right to evaluate the publication of such a work in the scientific journals or series of the Carmelite Order.

Cheque amount €5500 gross.

The winner will operate under a self-employed agreement, free from any subordinate ties. They will not be integrated into the Archive's organisational structure or activities and will have the liberty to organise their research freely, including from home. Taxes and any social security contributions will be determined based on the winner's fiscal and social security regime (VAT number or separate management). For this reason, the selected winner must inform the Archive's administration of their fiscal situation upon acceptance of the grant.

Cheque compatible with other benefits or work income.

Duration: 9 mesi (1 novembre 2023 – 31 luglio 2024), durante i quali l’assegnista sarà libero di organizzare in autonomia tempi e modi della ricerca.

We are very pleased to inform you that the Sixth edition of the Research Grant named in memory of Fr. Emanuele Boaga (2022) has been awarded to Dr. Anna Abdelhamid Serra, a graduate in Philology, Literature and Ancient History.

He/She will work on a project entitled: Female Mysticism. Among the women of Carmel, the figure of the tertiary Anna Geltrude Picca from Velletri (18th century); transcription, edition, and commentary of an unpublished manuscript source.

In accordance with its aims, the General Archive of the Carmelite Order (hereinafter AGOC) is launching a selection process based on qualifications and an interview for the award of one research grant, in memory of archivist Fr. Emanuele Boaga, O.Carm. This grant is for carrying out historical, historical-religious, philological or archival research relating to the Carmelite Order, using the AGOC's heritage. The objective of this research is the production of a scientific work (article, monograph, edition of sources, inventory, etc.). The scientific committee will reserve the right to evaluate the publication of this work in the scientific journals or series of the Carmelite Order.

Siamo molto felici di comunicarvi che la Quinta edizione dell’Assegno di ricerca intitolato alla memoria di p. Emanuele Boaga (2021) è stata vinta da Alessia Brombin, dottoranda di ricerca in Teologia alla Pontificia Università Gregoriana.

Lavorerà a un progetto intitolato: “Trascrizione del manoscritto Compendio della vita e delle virtù della venerabile suor Lucrezia Michelini carmelitana (1662), contenuto nelle Vitae servorum Dei Carmelitarum di padre Serafino Potenza”.

Siamo molto felici di comunicarvi che la Quarta edizione dell’Assegno di ricerca intitolato alla memoria di p. Emanuele Boaga è stata vinta da Flavia Di Giampaolo, dottoressa di ricerca in Scienze del testo e archivista paleografa diplomata alla Scuola APD dell’Archivio di Stato di Roma. Lavorerà a un progetto intitolato: Il diario di viaggio di Giovanni Antonio Filippini, priore generale: edizione critica e contestualizzazione storica.

Il manoscritto oggetto della ricerca è caratterizzato da dimensioni assai ridotte, come un’agenda tascabile, e fu compilato durante il viaggio effettuato, negli anni 1651-1653, dal generale Filippini nelle province carmelitane dell’Europa centrale, in quel momento coinvolte in un movimento di riforma. Lo studio critico di questo testo avrà il merito di gettare luce sull’operato di una figura poco studiata, ma di grande rilevanza per la storia dell’Ordine carmelitano.

Si comunica che, per venire incontro alle difficoltà causate dall’emergenza epidemiologica da Covid-19, sono state aggiornate le scadenza e le altre date contenute nel Bando per l’assegno di ricerca intitolato alla memoria di p. Emanuele Boaga, O.Carm. (Quarta edizione).

In particolare il termine ultimo per la presentazione delle domande è stato prorogato al 30 settembre 2020.

In accordanceance with its aims, the General Archive of the Carmelite Order (hereinafter AGOC) is opening a selection for Titles e interview for the awarding to scholars of research grant, intitolato alla memoria dell’archivista p. Emanuele Boaga, OCarm, per lo svolgimento di ricerche storiche, storico-religiose, filologiche o archivistiche relative all’Ordine Carmelitano, da condursi utilizzando il patrimonio dell’AGOC, e che abbiano come obiettivo la produzione di un elaborato scientifico (articolo, monografia, edizione di fonti, inventariazione ecc.). La Commissione scientifica si riserverà di valutare la pubblicazione di tale elaborato nelle riviste o collane scientifiche dell’Ordine Carmelitano.

Importo dell’assegno: 5500 euro lordi

Regime di prestazione autonoma e assenza di vincoli di subordinazione: il vincitore non sarà inserito nell’organigramma dell’Archivio né nelle sue attività e potrà liberamente organizzare la propria ricerca, anche da casa. Tasse ed eventuali contributi previdenziali saranno determinati sulla base del regime fiscale del vincitore (p.iva o gestione separata): per tale ragione il vincitore prescelto dovrà comunicare la propria situazione fiscale all’amministrazione dell’Archivio al momento dell’accettazione dell’assegno.

We are delighted to inform you that the Third edition of the Research Scholarship named in memory of Fr. Emanuele Boaga has been awarded to Dr. Jacopo De Santis, Doctor of Philosophy in History and Social Sciences and a paleographer archivist with a diploma from the APD School of the State Archives of Rome. They will be working on a project entitled “The archive of the convent of Santa Maria in Traspontina: a proposal for reordering and inventorying”.

The documentary complex of Traspontina, preserved at the AGOC and partly at the State Archives of Rome, comprises documentation relating to the period when the aforementioned convent housed the General Curia and was directly dependent on the Prior General. Consequently, it contains documents concerning not only the administration of the convent but also those relating to the administration of the curials: procurators, postulators, treasurers-general, etc. It is precisely in this commingling and overlap of jurisdictions that the critical issues, but also the extreme interest, of this reorganisation lie.
